- Providing Medical Review Officer support to the Pantex Substance Abuse Program
- Employee health counseling and wellness
- Emergency and disaster response support
- Confidentiality under the Law
- Medical monitoring programs
- Medical records management
Requirements
Pantex Occupational Health Services programs, staff and facilities must meet Federal and State requirements for their work, including those found in the:
- Code of Federal Regulations
- Texas Administrative Code
- United States Code
- Department of Energy Orders
- Relevant consensus standards, such as those of the National Fire Protection Association
Staff Qualifications
Pantex Occupational Health Services healthcare personnel include individuals licensed in accordance with all Texas requirements:
- Physicians – MD and/or DO
- Psychologist
- Advanced Practice Nurses (Nurse Practitioners)
- Physician's Assistant
- Registered Nurses
- Medical Laboratory Technicians
- X-Ray Technicians
In addition, Pantex Occupational Health Services staff members receive training for special tasks they perform such as:
- Audiometry (hearing testing)
- Spirometry (pulmonary function/breathing testing)
- Medical Laboratory/X-Ray Technology
- Medical Review Officer
- Breath Alcohol Testing
- Drug Screening Urine Collection
Facilities
Pantex Occupational Health Services is independently inspected and accredited by the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care. The Pantex Medical Laboratory is certified by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services under the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act requirements. The Pantex Medical Laboratory is also certified by the Department of Transportation as a drug-screening specimen collection and breath-alcohol testing site.
Minor Illness Care
Pantex Occupational Health Services provides minor medical care for employees on a limited basis, within established medical protocols. Those needing urgent attention are seen without appointment and ahead of routine cases. As needed, ill or injured employees are transferred to Amarillo acute care facilities.
